Catherine Ryan is a writer and filmmaker whose storytelling focuses on promoting female protagonists, often exploring themes of difficult friendships and emotionally distant families. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2021 with a major in Film & Television and a minor in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies.
During her undergraduate career, Catherine interned with a variety of companies, tackling everything from managing social media to producing gift bags to writing script coverage. She currently works as a Page at Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles.
Favorite films and shows include The Truman Show, Gone Girl, Wild Wild Country, 500 Days of Summer, Children of Men, the first three seasons of Lost, All These Sleepless Nights, Ozark, I, Tonya, and Everything Everywhere All at Once. In her spare time, Catherine practices 35mm photography, reads across genres, and meticulously maintains spreadsheets tracking her personal data even though she is already a paid subscriber to several services that automatically chart everything for her.
